Question about LB7s and the blade release rocker pin

What is the significance of a LB7 that has the pin more towards the blade vs the ones that have the pin more to the center?
Are the more centered ones newer or older?
I have noticed that the ones with the more centered pins also have a different spring (shorter and straight round stock).

They are design changes, I don't know in which order they occurred, though it may have had something to do with the change they made to the two flat type springs instead of the bar spring & keeper system of the older knives.

The answer may be in some of the paper work from the factory,.......which may or may not have survived.
