Nickel Silver Buck 110 in Desert Ironwood

Post by snorkel »

New NS 110 (never used or carried) fully pinned and epoxied. Ironwood is from Ironwood by Don.

It's only finished to 220 in this pic, still have to get it to 1500 and then the buffer.

I love the look and feel of a 110 with flat peened pins vs the stock spun ones. A interesting side effect of using peened pins is the blade locks up even tighter, the stock spun rocker pin is not as tight and this does have a small effect on the blade moving a tiny bit up and down.
I plan on doing one more in brass and do some file work on the spine.

For this one I removed the rocker and two butt pins (which where a pain to remove) this allowed the two sides to pivot on the blade pin which allowed me to drill out the scale pins from the back and then glue on the new scales with mid cure epoxy before pinning.
