ROBESON DISPLAY BOX QUESTION

hey all, I bought this Robeson display box awhile back and play on trying to put it back as close as I can to orig this winter.
And of course it wasn't complete..so the question is:
What type of display board did the cab have? a flat board that the knives
were fastened to or a tray type that had small compartments...or was this for a whole selection of robeson products..sizzors knives razors?
Anyone have an old cat pic?

any help is appreciated.

There should be two parallel grooves down the inside edges of the side panels and corresponding grooves in the top panel and the bottom.
The inner-most set of grooves held a board with felt and mounted knives, the outer-most a glass pane.
On most of these that I've seen, the grooves are accessed by removing a 1 1/2 to 2" strip on the front of the bottom. Possibly accessed by removing the top, if there are screws there that are accessible.

I wasn't sure but it does have the gooves in it.
wonder what they used to mount the display Knives?
Some other older displays I have seen wire or a fabric type tie.
Going by the type of sections in the rear for stock..Do you think this box had a mix of Knives/sizzors etc?
It is missing a shelf back there as well but that's an easy fix.

I think the groove that's visible in your photo is for the sheet of glass.
You are, apparently, missing the stip of wood/moulding that goes on the bottom. It would have had a correxponding groove for the glass.

You still need to mount a display board in the case somehow. I do not see a set of grooves for that, so I'm somewhat at a loss to explain how it was mounted.

Robeson did use some displays that had a separate nesting place for each item, instead of a flat mounting board. Most I've seen were for razors, but I've seen one that was strictly for Robeson's MasterCraft series of knives. That case was labled "MasterCraft" with a raised plaster type logo along the top front.
