Ulster knife co and dating a knife

Due to the help and kindness of philco im now the very proud owner of these lovely ulster knife co scout knife, ive done a few searches and have found bits n bobs but wondered if anyone can help dating this knife and are there any sites with history information on ulster, as always big thanks guys n gals

What you have there is a WW II era Engineers pocket knife.

In 1944 they started using the safety can opener, which yours has.

So your knife was made from 1944 on till some time after WWII when all the extra parts were used up.

Nice knife and even nicer of Phil to give it as a gift

great cheers M,B , so its pretty old so its not a scouts knife its a engineers, what is the difference between the 2 is it the flat driver ? I love this knife ill take this to the grave

The knife in the picture looks to be stainless steel, Ulster began making stainless steel knives in 1964 I believe. Hope that helps

Doesn't look like stainless to me and I think it is early post war. If it were post 1964 it would not have the earlier mark. Also where did you get the idea Ulster didn't use stainless until 1964?
