POST YOUR KNIFE DISPLAYS HERE.

Schrade Cutlery Company was founded in 1904 by George Schrade, and his brothers Jacob and William Schrade. In 1946 Imperial Knife Associated Companies, (IKAC; an association of Ulster Knife Co and Imperial Knife Co) purchased controlling interest in Schrade Cut Co and changed the name to Schrade Walden Cutlery. In 1973 the name was changed to Schrade Cutlery. In 2004 Schrade closed due to bankruptcy.

This forum is dedicated to the knives that are the legacy of this company. This forum is not the place to discuss the replica knives currently being imported using the Schrade name.

POST YOUR KNIFE DISPLAYS HERE.

Post by koldgold »

I have been collecting Schrade knives for a very long time. 90% of my collection is in boxes and almost never seen.
I do have some Displays, that I look at evey day. Every-one that comes into my house, also see all of my displays.
Let us all see some nice displays... ::tu:: Ken

I have two Schrade displays.
My 1st same as your top pic.
Found at Ace Hardware under the counter & empty.
Restocked with all USA Schrades of course.

Second display was kindly sent to me by a fellow
cCc member that knows of my Schradeaholicism.
(try that three times fast!)
I cheated a lil, using a 708B in the 104OT slot
and an 881 instead of the 8OT.

Hi woseyjales, I like your last Display unit. ::tu::

I was very lucky to find my Schrade 2004 Display; it was unopened when I got it.
It also came with six of each knife, as stock. All the un-opened boxes have price tags on them.
My Display was sent to a hardware store in Lemars IA, in Febuary 2004.

I have some small displays, with some of my Duck knives (2003 and 2004)
Some 4inc Stockman (8OT, 881, 808 and 855UH) I also have a small number of Buck knives.

Sounds to me like the hardware store wasn't
as excited as you to get it if they never opened it.
Usually a good idea to at least check contents
before sending payment.

Feb.'04 shipping, you probably have one of the
last USA displays shipped out.
I'll even go out on a limb and guess it is probably
THE last one shipped to IA that later
turned up in Australia. ::smirk::

I found it in the US and ship it to Australia (US$155 Postage) from IA.
I have never seen such a late display in Australia.
The display also came with a list of all the items sold in 2004.
I then spent the next 5 years trying to find all the items sold by Schrade between 2000 and 2004.
Some of the knives that sold back then, for less the $10 have been very hard to find.
I found some 35OTG in packs, you do not see them about.
My Badger made in China for Schrade in 2004, is the only one I have seen.

I don't know if this qualifies. I nailed together some scraps to make a rack for some 165s. The stag one is courtesy of Orvet. They are all different in some way.

Thanks Wosejales! I have tried my best, and I have a lot more that aren't pictured. I'm not sure I have 75% but I am working on it...LOL. ::nod::

Eventually, when I can find the time I will finish up my Schrade Room and then I'll post pictures of it!

Eric,

I was lucky enough to find a fella that had both of them, the OT and UH displays for sale! They weren't cheap, but they were worth the price to me!

Koldgold,

I've seen a lot of your stuff posted and I have to say...you have some fantastic knives yourself!

I love all the Schrade Displays, and I even acquired a few more that I'll need to get filled up!

After seeing your Green Tradesman Set, I have been looking for a set for my collection.
I have some very nice knives, locked away in their boxes - some in a safe, and I never see them.
However, I can see all of my Displays evey day, often stopping as I walk by to enjoy my knives. ::tu:: Ken.
