Pretty Vintage Push Button Slide Blade Knife

Post by Draac »

Picked this up for $12.00 It was too pretty to not grab it.

I have two other slide blade knives but the are maked AUTOPOINT CO. CHICAGO BLADE BY GITS. This one has no marking at all on the blade or inside on the metal through the sliding slot. It is marked "SWIFT & COMPANY J-96" On the back of it, into the handle.

Description: The button locks the blade in four different positions. It has no springs in it. It is not a switch blade knife. The Hard Plastic type handles have no cracks. It is about 2&7/8" closed.

More than likely it is a Gits knife.I thought there were only two manufacturers of these(Gits and Christy)but I was looking at one of the double ended ones I have and it looks like it may be stamped,"Gerson" on the inside. It is difficult to read as some of the letters have been worn away by use.I'll try and get a couple pics up.
