Information Please - Schrade Cut Co Whittler set

Any infomation on a Schrade Cut Co Bicentennial Whittler set, Please.
I can not find information on these nice knives.

The picture won't enlarge, but I will hazard a guess.
It is probably a commemorative made by Schrade for the US Bicentennial in 1976.
I have not seen one nor do I have a copy of a flyer on it, but Imperial Schrade had the rights to the Schrade Cut Co name. I have seen other commemoratives they did with the Cut Co name.

Not exactly the same set , but should be similar value . I have sold these sets for $100 - $140 .

I picked up a set of those whittlers and there was a hand written note in the box. I can't verify any of it is fact but this is what the note said,

"Made from old NOS parts in 1982
All parts except the handles and shields are NOS not used since the early 50's
135 hand operations
22 separate parts
Sold for $150 in 1982"

I would say a contract knife made for Schrade .The do not have the swindon system.They have pins through the bolster.

I believe that Schrade made them. The 804 whillter pattern was in the Schrade "open stock" product line into the early 1970's with delrin handles (some were also made for Sears/CRAFTSMAN)...however at least in my experience none of them were made with the Swinden rivets even though most Schrade knives were. Its probable that Schrade chose not to convert that particular pattern to the Swinden system.

Schrade definitely made them; they made a number of patterns right up until the last that did not have Swinden construction. I have one of these sets. It is available.
