Johnnie, I know they are coming from China but I'm telling you Colt is turning out some decent stuff. I've got a teardrop jack I carried for a year and I never could find a problem with it.

BTW I sure am glad to see you posting once again. ::ds:: ::ds:: It's just not the same without you here.

Those are some suhlick lookin' knives.

China is turning out good products.....they are. Wish they were comin' from our soil, but we who are USA MADE AWARE are highly, highly outnumbered by those who are "DOLLAR" aware.

As I always say.......It's all about the money.....and I an't just referrin' to the movie. Everything we do or don't do is all about the money.

Jeeeeez.....sorry about that rant..... ::facepalm::

Scott, the top two are money and sex, in that order. Everything comes back around to money and sex. You want to figure something out, just focus on those two items.

These are the only two Colts I have. The first is a Serengeti Skinner. The picture was snagged off eBay because I'm too lazy to go dig mine out of the safe and take pictures. Mine has a Cape Buffalo etched on the blade. I bought it because of the blade etch and it was inexpensive. A U.S. made scabbard like that would cost more than I paid for the package.

The second is a Black Stag Doctor's knife. It was an impulse purchase because it was inexpensive.

Both have very good fit and finish. I have no idea how they would hold up with use. ::shrug::

I haven't handled any of the newer Colt bowies but some of their smaller FB's I have and they are nice knives for the money. I do own a few of their newer slippies.......

The build on them is excellent for the money. From my understanding the Colt slippie lines are made by the same people over in China that build the Rough Rider line. I also have a slightly older Colt Black Stag Bone Copperhead and while it's F&F ain't quite as good as the Brown Stag Bone's above it's still decent given their inexpensive price......

They'll never be worthwhile collector pieces but taken for what they are the imported Colt line is a pretty good bang for the buck IMO.

Hey Johnnie, glad to see you bro! Hope things are going well. ::pray::

I have a Colt bayonet that I picked up from SMKW as a every day user on my AR and I love it. G-10 handles, glass fiber reinforced scabbard and some thick metal. It's well made and almost as thick as my Buckmaster. Thicker than a Lan-Cay M 9 bayonet, I'm a fan. ::nod::

Jerry, thinking about what you had to say there - really cannot think of a thing wrong with either money or sex, of course I like guns, hunting, and knives too! :lol: :lol:

Ps When I was at SMKW last month I looked at the Colt and Rough Rider knives on display and will admit they looked pretty good.

Those double lockbacks are cool looking. They remind me of bull horns when in the locked position. Sweet find, Johnnie! ::groove::

Johnnie I picked up one of those a while back on an ebay auction for dirt cheap (less than $10 IIRC) It's a hoss of a knife measuring 4 1/2 inches closed, and has a real nice look to it. Like 2Xtap says they are pretty good bang for the buck.
