Slim Trapper

The KA-BAR brand originated as a trademark of the Tidioute Cutlery Company. Tidioute was later taken over & renamed the Union Cutlery Company which continued making the brand until Union eventually adopted it as the company name in 1952. Cutco Corporation later acquired the company in 1996.

Slim Trapper

Post by 268bull »

This is an example of what happens to me on a boring Monday afternoon ( 02/20/12 ) and I know of a shop that has a varied display of pocket knives " jus' diein' ta meet cha ". This KA-BAR, OLEAN,N.Y. trapper let me off easy though, and fortunately for me, was affordable. Price & Zalesky ( 08' ) list the knife as pattern #5212J, celluloid handles, although I would have a tendancy to refer them as plastic or a composite. Some previous owner was sloppy with the Turkish clip blade and has grinder marks on it. Fortunate for the secondary blade, he realized the error of his way's and kept it away from the grinding wheel. There is some minor shrinkage to the handles, but the blades are solid and open & close with good snap. Most importantly, I'm very happy with my purchase! ::nod:: Dale H.
