Can I patch a chip in a bone handle with epoxy?

Post by treefarmer »

I have a Case XX 6233 that a a chip out of the scale on the off side and am sure it can be repaired with epoxy. I am looking for suggestions on how to color the Loctite Epoxy to match the original scale color. Thanks for any help in this matter. Treefarmer

What is the Base of the modern 2 part epoxies?

Will the potassium pomegranate used to dye bone blend with the Base or will it just suspend it?

Would that be flat, semi-gloss, or gloss, WB?

I never would have guessed it! I thought it would be a polymer. ::shrug::

Thanks!

Old furniture repair/restoration trick. It does slow up the drying time, so 5-minute epoxy works best. Use the pigment from the bottom of the can for best results. A little dab'll do.
