Sod Rivet - Busting Loose...

Post by Joe Dirt »

This is definitely a first for me. The hollow half of the sod rivet has a wall thickness
that is .010 thinner at the split than the opposite side.

After this happened I checked the other rivet's in the bag... on average there
is only .004 difference in the wall thicknesses. No others were found "out of tolerance."

EDIT: The expansion pins on the other piece of the rivets were all within .001.

From now on, I will be checking the thickness of the rivets before using them.
This bag of sod rivets came from Jantz.

Has anyone else encountered this problem before?

It came close to living in the backyard after this, Perry! ::facepalm::
The final destination of this knife, in Tenn., is now projected to arrive in March 2013. ::tease::
