How do u no what age is of Old Timer
OK....Old Timer used to be my fav knife but i got upset when an old man told me one i had was worth 10 dollars and it new so i gave away at least 6 i know.....well, now i no he just wanted the knife. Here are only ones i have left. the two on left Schrade NY USA 340T and Schrade USA 1940T the last 2 are CHINA... SO who knows if these are old or new the USA ones?

Well, they're no older than 1975, before that they'd be stamped "Schrade-Walden". Here's a link to an excellent post on dates compiled by Orvet:

PS- Forgot to mention, Schrade NY predates the plain Schrade stamp. Not quite sure when it was dropped, but I don't think it made it into the 1980's.

Well, first off, Schrade USA closed it's doors in 2004 so Schrade knives are no longer made in the USA.

The good news is Canal Street Cutlery now operates in the same facility that Schrade did in Ellenville, NY and there are a number of past employees of Schrade now handcarfting knives for Canal Street Cutlery!!
