Schrades line of knives at the end.
While digging around I came across a couple of these sheets which have the Schrade line around the end of times for them. These might perhapes have been given to employees ( or customers) to familiarize themselves with the product and Identify the items. Schrade over the years did this with cards pocket holders and several other mediums so that employees could acquaint themselves with what they might be working with. I have some of the others older cards ect which were used if there is an interest I will post some pics later. I do not like to continue a post if no one really has an interest I waste enough of other peoples time. LT
PS Yes Dale I think I did pack a copy of this in your package with some other stuff. PPS Thanks again.

I'm certainly interested. I wish you could scan that beauty. It would make it a lot easier to see what is written on each illustration. The pictures are still an interesting piece of history though.

Well after I looked at this sheet for a while I thought it looked familiar. So I turned around. There right in my face on the wall in my office ( so to speak ) was a similar but not the same kind of lay out but in full color. It is being used as another section of my unique wallpaper. It has the same kind of numbering. So it would seem the plain sheet was kind of a layout recognition sheet for a store display. It includes several brands because Schrade used to be the display manager in places like Walmart that is they incorporated other companies but they were in charge of planning and making the displays. If you want stop over I will give you one of these large in color boards I have a stack but at aound 3' X 5' they are a bit rough to mail. it does fold in the middle which is nice if you have an older house with ceilings that slope upstairs like mine. Man the stuff I have laying around. I still have not gotten into 300 lbs in a steel architects cabinet of original patents and the original artwork for series like the WWII issue. I need an assistant a ( younger than I ) girl assistant. LT

Hi Lt...
If Julie London doesn't work out, I still think I might be able to get Wonder Woman to help you. You do have a LOT of Crown on hand, don't you??? She's a little older now, but she's still pretty strong...

A while back on this thread I mentioned that Schrade used pictures with model numbers on cards so that employees unfamiliar with the products could reference items by referring to these cards. This procedure started quite a while back and printing stamps were originally used for the process. Later on photos often were used ( but actually photos of the print from the stamp.) The reason for that was to keep uniformity that is not to confuse employees with two pics of the same item. Now these printing blocks were used to mark boxes, in catalogues, and for many other reasons. However getting back to the original premise. First cards were used and carried by the employees for this purpose. Later a small pocket holder similar to a pen holder with pics of the products was used. I have included pics of the pocket version, a set of cards from the 70 ot early 80tys. I also took a pic of a case I have with a complete set of the printing blocks ( I have many more ). I also have the cruder earlier pics however this should give you an idea. Remember Schrade would hire people off the street who were essentially factory workers they had to be trained as to the product the same as any similar job in any factory no matter what they produced this was the method Schrade used. LT PS please let me know if I leave a loose end on any thread ( something I said I would explain or post I simply sometimes get to busy ( and I am to old ) to always remember. I just look at this post and it is giant size and you have to scroll a mile to get the pics I posted in the middle so I do not know what happened. Perhapes something to do with the giant diagram above it.?????
