Schrade 1916 INFO?

Schrade Cutlery Company was founded in 1904 by George Schrade, and his brothers Jacob and William Schrade. In 1946 Imperial Knife Associated Companies, (IKAC; an association of Ulster Knife Co and Imperial Knife Co) purchased controlling interest in Schrade Cut Co and changed the name to Schrade Walden Cutlery. In 1973 the name was changed to Schrade Cutlery. In 2004 Schrade closed due to bankruptcy.

This forum is dedicated to the knives that are the legacy of this company. This forum is not the place to discuss the replica knives currently being imported using the Schrade name.

Schrade 1916 INFO?

Post by Cutty »

This knife is up for offers on a local site. I have no idea what they generally sell for. All I know is that I want the dang thang. I haven't seen it in person yet.

I have a feeling that it's out of my $ range.
Does anybody know their general value?

The seller describes it as "THE KNIFE IS DATED 1916.. IN EXCELLENT CONDITION.OPENS GREAT,LOCKS IN PLACE,GOOD SHARP BLADE"

These pictures are not mine.

thanks guys

They often go for $200 and better. Expect a last seconds snipe to double the price. The 1916 patent number is exactly that. The knife could have been made in the 1930s or 1940s and still have that 1916 number on it. If you buy it, expect to see some of the nicest old bone.

Well my offer wasn't enough I guess ::td:: It wouldn't have been enough for me either

I recieved a response saying it's now up on the bay.

This is not my knife and I have no connections to it other than being shut down on my offer on Atl. C's List.
It'll be interesting to see how it ends.

Cutty, sometimes it is not meant to be and that knife is grossly overpriced. I missed a knife by a hair the other day and I sat down and wept bitter tears. Life goes on. lol.
