A while back a thread was started in General about a kid named Devin. He has had some medical issues, and was interested in knife collecting. A bunch of people got together to send Devin some seed knives for his collection. See details in this thread...

Anyway, I thought it would be cool to do a mod for him. I don't know if it's his first "custom", but it's his first GT. :)

I used Catalina Amber jigged bone from Culpepper. I forgot to take a pic of the original knife, so the first pic is another exactly like it. The original knife's handles were all shrunken and pulled away.

I even did a little file work on the inside of the middle scale, LOL.

I hope he enjoys it.

Love the file work Glenn and you know what a sucker I am for that Catalina Amber. Another great job. I cannot imagine him not being thrilled. Another job well done my generous friend.

Yeah, Glenn. A very nice job indeed. The young man will no doubt be happy to own that knife.

Careful Glenn. You're getting pretty good at this and that can only mean one thing.....more work coming your way. It looks like you enjoy it though and that's all that really matters. ::tu::

Looks real nice who wouldn't like that gonna have to order some scales that color

Is there a tutorial for file work like this somewhere on this site? If not why not post one - that looks great and shouldn't be that hard to pick up. I looked with Google and there is one posted on line in a pencil drawing that is very hard to understand.

Well, the one that I did is about as basic and simple as you can get. ANYBODY could do that. :)

I thought that someone did a tutorial some time back.
