Here's a custom Schrade I picked up in an antique store. They knew nothing about the artist behing the job. Do you recognize the mark on the back of the tang as seen in the third pic? Additionally, I have this fixed blade that has no tang stamp. I thought it may be a Buck, but Dale thinks it may be a Schrade. Anyone with thoughts on the fixed blade?

On the custom folding hunter no I do not recognize the marking. It is obviously aftermarket the front rivit, and numerous other factors seem to intimate it being done by someone at home who likes to fix and mess around with these. What goes against that are the scales which seem to be undyed original Schrade handles. Someone cared enough to make quite a project out of it. Obviously whoever it was they had parts. The dots are a good idea for an individual maker since it is a personalized marking. On the sheath knife the shield and etch are perfect for Schrade that is all I see at the moment. Hope this helps LT PS with Schrade finding a non tanged knife is really more common than thought . There are numerous reasons for this but to lengthy to mention all of them . Still this style for Schrade is unusual so ????.

Thanks LT. I'm pretty clueless (which is a rather obvious statement). I think right behind the thrill of the hunt for a knife comes the hunt for info on it. I think with you and Dale thinking the fixed blade is a Schrade, I can rest easier believing it's a Schrade as well. Thanks again for sharing the info.

Schrade made most of the DU knives, but not all of them. Most expensive one I ever sold was a blackjack. What I am showing here is a Grohmann.

Is your Grohman tang stamped? Nice looking knife by the way.
