Where to find Victorinox Bail
Hello All!
I've been on the hunt for a Victorinox replacement bail (shackle) for nearly a week now with no luck. Any ideas where I might come across one? The knife I'm trying to restore is an old 3 layer SAK, looks a lot like a Climber or Backpacker of sorts. It was apparent that the bail was peened on the top pin, so that would make the bail holes 2.5mm.
That's about all the info I've been able to piece together. If anyone has any ideas, please send them my way! I'd love to have this baby back to as close to pristine as possible pretty soon here.
Thanks in advance!

I don't have one yet, no. I'll try to snap one soon.Jody744 wrote:Got a pic of the knife?
Here's a shot of what I'm trying to find though. I pulled it from a SAKwiki page.

Thank you! And excellent idea, I tried the number but the office is closed, so for now I just sent a quick email asking about it.
Thanks for your help! I'll be sure to post something if I come up with any results. From all the searching I've been doing I've come to realize how rare it is to find bails these days. I'm trying my best to avoid buying an old Victorinox just to pull the bail off it.

I`m sure you can find a bail somewhere. I had a kit somewhere that had all the different springs that they used in their folding scissors, these break often times and they sold these kits to dealers or repairmen.

I've seen the repair kits that contain toothpicks, tweezers, scissor springs, etc... but no mention of bails. If you have more specific info on kits that include bails, please let me know! That would be perfectMiller Bro`s wrote:I`m sure you can find a bail somewhere. There is a whole LOT of potential there! Sorry about that pun
But really, someone is going to have an awesome set of Vic parts to play around with. I'll have to keep my eye on this one. But for my current project I'm not sure it's what I'm looking for. I may have overlooked it, but I didn't see any that had a bail attached.
Thanks for bringing this to my attention though! You can never have too many spare parts lying around
