What can anyone tell me about this G. Schrade / B'Port, CT tang stamp?

Jerry.George Schrade formed the Geo Schrade Knife Co in 1928-29 in Bridgeport.
This information came out of Blades Guides to Knives and there Values page 151.
Hope this helps.

Thanks Grant. I think at some level, I knew that list I have is for Schrade Walden which is a different company.

George was involved with Schrade Cutlery Company of Walden from 1904 until 1910, whereupon he moved on to other endeavors. From 1910 on he had no relationship with the Schrade firm which this forum was designed to address. There is a nice concise history of his cutlery work in Goins' Encyclopedia of Cutlery Markings, a reasonably priced paperback book which should be in every collector's library.jerryd6818 wrote:Thanks Grant. Goins dates the George Schrade Knife Co at Bridgeport CT from 1929 to 1956.
In 1965 it was purchased by Boker USA. Boker closed it in 1958, after the anti-switchblade law was passed by Congress.
The thought seems to be they bought the company for the rights to George's patents, but then the law was passed there was no money to be made there.
