Colonial Knife was incorporated in 1926 by three brothers; Antonio, Domenic, & Fredrick Paolantonio. It grew to become one of the largest pocket knife manufacturers in the US during the 1960s. The company shut down in 1998, but was back into production under the Colonial Cutlery International Corporation in 2001. Colonial Cutlery International, Inc. brand is the imported line of knives and tools while the U.S.A.- made products fall under the Colonial Knife brand.

One of my favorite hunting folders. I can get a better edge on it than my buck 110. I think the coyote was their economy line. I found it used last year for 10 bucks. One of my best buys ever.

Hi and welcome Luna!

Got pics?

I have a green Cyote still in its blister pack! I'm pretty sure it is from the '80s.
I believe it is a step up from Colonials "Ranger" series - I'll have to dig it out and take some pics...

I know they made the same knife in the Ranger series - but I don't know the quality of the steel (1085 0r 1095) or if they used the "plated bolsters" in the construction or opted for higher quality NS - thats somthing we'll have to ask Bobby.

Anyhow, I'm glad you have had a chance to use yours... even though mine is only 30 yrs old - I can't make myself open the origional packsge... ::mdm::
