This week was the first the first week of police academy. If all goes well, in 9 months I'll go down to Columbus and take the Ohio Peace Officer Training Course exam and hopefully pass with flying colors Then it's time to find a job!
I'm pretty excited so far. Two days in and the course seems pretty legit. Initial PT test is monday,.. excited, but nervous.
Seems like a bunch of good people, instructors and cadets alike.

The only real problem I have is that it explicitly states in the rules and regulations manual, that the carrying of any type of knife or utility knife will not be permitted for any purpose.
Oh well, can't say I haven't heard that before.

That's tough about the knives. I remember when I was in Basic Training, we got a liberty and went into San Antonio. I bought a couple cheap knives, and kept them in my drawer. If they had found them, who knows what trouble I would have gotten. Guess it was worth the risk.
