The Queen Cutlery Company manufactured knives in Titusville Pennsylvania for 96 years. The company opened its only factory there in 1919 and commenced to make some of the best US crafted cutlery you will find. Unfortunately, the Titusville manufacturing plant closed down in 2018.

OOOH, I like that. I love a congress, and 1095 is HARD to beat. It's my favorite!

What size is that? Please tell me it's 4 inches!

Cost reduction? These knives don't have shields, either. I'm guessing it's a no frills offering kind of thing. It is a good knife, a hand-filler and I really like carbon steel blades. This one will get carried frequently.

Has a very high fondle factor

I think the exposed pins are something to do with strength ( more surface area to stop movement ).I remember reading a post on a electrician knife.
Hope thie helps.

I second that (and learned it here on AAPK). It adds more strength to the bolsters which makes sense in the workhorse-line.

update- one of the pen blades was set quite low, noticeably difficult to get a nail on it. I took a small file and beveled the inside edge of the liner at that area to get better access to it.
