What's New ?

Former Schrade President Walley Gardner and principal Joe Hufnagel joined with nine master cutlers to form a group of US craftsmen with over 300 years of combined knife making experience to create Canal Street Cutlery. It was first located in upstate New York where a long and rich tradition of quality knife making dates back to the 19th century. Unfortunately, the company closed its doors in 2015, but not before making some great knives. The brand was resurrected in 2018 as Canal Street Cutlery Co-Op & focused on making very small batches of high quality traditional knives. As a Co-Op, it was owned by the knife makers who worked there. Unfortunately, the business model couldn't hold up & the entity again ceased production.

What's New ?

Sitting here wondering if Canal Street has launched any new patterns since the Barlow. What have I missed ?

Sorry Phil,

Been meaning to post this - just flying back from the SHOT Show - Canal Street has introduced a new knife this week - called LiL' Pete. It's a smaller two blade trapper with a clip blade and a wharncliffe blade. You can read more about it on my blog at http://droppointhunter.com/Canal-Street ... -Show-2014.

I was fortunate enough to spend some quality time with Wally and Michael at the Shot Show......I believe I was at their booth every day, sometimes more.....sorry Michael and Wally....LOL

I found myself drawn to Lil Pete and have fallen in love with this pattern as soon as I saw him....dang it, just another Canal Street Pattern to add to my ever growing CSC gathering. Woo Hoo

I can't wait to bring the little guy home, he will fit very well with my Pinch Lock Backs and Barlows!

Thank you Michael and Wally for everything you do for us at Canal Street!

Tom,

It hasn't been decided yet - we have been mad busy on SHOT Show follow up and reorganization projects.

We should know in a month or so. There will be some good ones - I promise.

Michael,

I have no doubt they will be wonderful specimens, regardless of the cover material. The Red, White & Blue Kirinite would look great.....wink wink
