Four Custom Knives by Colin Paterson
I'm not sure how many AAPK visitors / members are into custom knives, but I figured some of you might like to see these....

Hey Bill,
I'm really getting into these custom knives. I've been paying more attention and reading / studying them pretty close lately. It's amazing how much tallent is out there in the knife making business. There is a pretty good sized show here in the southern half of Illinois next weekend (Mt. Vernan). I'm going with my mind geared 99% toward examining the custom knife offerings. I went to the same show a couple years ago with an entirely different mind set (old factory manufactured knives were all that was on my mind). I guess I still haven't found my direction in this hobby. ...probably never will. I'm learning every day that there are many more avenues to knife collecting than I could have ever imagined.
It's always hard to tell by pictures... (They usually do not do the knives justice). but, from what I can see, that Ty Montell sure looks nice.
I'm not even going to look at the Chef's knife very close in fear that I might have to start collecting Kitchen knives

Oh baby!!!
You're gonna have a good time Bryan. We have two shows in the month of November here in AZ. I'm getting revvvvvved to the max.
The Winston is the first chef's knife David ever made...after 30 years of knifemaking. It is gorgeous and it was really for my wife...but I wave it around every once in awhile.
Ty makes GREAT knives for around $300...still a catch in today's custom slipjoint world, in my opinion.

Hey Lobo were you at the Show this weekend? I had 2 tables, I was next to Ray Rybar's table. It was a good show, it always is. We down in Tucson will be having our 4th Annual Knife Show (AKCA show) in May of 06. Hope to see you there!
BTW I really like Colin's work also!
Will be posting a few . . . custom folders over the next day/weeks/months, show some serious customs

Hi Paul,
Welcome to the forums!
I was just browsing your site...
Love this one!

Something about the lines on the clip point blade. Also, I'm a sucker for worm groove bone handles...

Thanks, Al does good work. One of my favorties, though not a traditional slip joint is this one from Jeff Claiborne

Sorry that it looks so bad, one of my 1st attempts at photography, the fuzziness on the blade is actually a reflection from the rug I used as background.
And for those who wish to know it is an English Jack pattern, and the mosaic damascus is by Charles Kain, they are both from Indiana.
Thanks for looking!

Man I love all of those knives, will someone please give me some more money so I can buy them all...
Bryan
I never figured that I would even start to venture into the custom knives arena but I have fallen in love with the craftsmanship and beauty of these knives.
Here is my first custom (hopefully not my last) knife to date....
