Been a while

Post by Darksev »

It's been a few since I've really participated here (not that I've not been busy, just not much in the way of knives) I'm afflicted with a sort of "Project A.D.D." and in an effort to "make room" for some fun projects I want to work on this summer, I seem to have "caught the bug" when it comes to good old fashioned pocket knives again. This is a good thing (kinda) when you have a project box full of springs, blades and old beat up knives.

Here's a few weeks worth of shaking out the cobwebs:

More recent Kutmaster. Polished blade, rat tailed bolsters, fileworked spring and unfortunately I have no idea what kind of wood. It's stabilized (Probably from AKS), and it's been in my pile since probably 2010 or so. It always looked sort of plain on the surface until I started sanding it. wonderful chatoyance all through the wood! A happy surprise

Quicky 4 Line Camillus. Jigged paper micarta. Much tougher than the last stuff I worked with, this may have been some old westinghouse stuff. Hard as a rock and at least as dense. My cutters had a hell of a time with it. Carbide next time ;)

Adam,

I took some time last week to go through the pictures on your website. Your work is very impressive. You have a great eye for the use of materials in your pieces.

Very nice!
