A new nessmuk

Post by muskrat man »

haven't been getting any response on my nessmuk designs, so I took qualities that I liked from each design, changed some angles and got this new nessmuk. Hopefully this design will generate some interest with the nessaholics  .

Bookmatched maple burl, didn't look that good, until I started working it down, then the figure just started popping out everywhere. 1/4" solid brass pins. Thin L6 razor sharp blade.

I like it Kaleb. I would like some specs, blade thickness and width, oal, blade and handle length. I will say that to me it looks stunning.

The downswept handle looks comfortable, it looks like I could use it for hours without getting my hand tired, very ergonomic in other words. The lines flow very smoothly and give it a very elegant look. I also like it because it is solid curves, that's what makes this knife flow so well. ::tu:: ::tu::

ALSO, this knife looks like it is a good one to modify for length, blade width and so on for a nessie series. Well done!

thanks guys.

Hukk, you read my mind, I went out to the shop this morning and blanked a new nessmuk out, I sold the maple burl one yesterday. I also blanked out another, but a bit somaller only about 7" OAL the bigger one is about 8" OAL, I convexed the bigger one I blanked today. Hope to have them finished late tommorow evening. These two will have matched handles and will be sold as a set.The steel is 3/32" stock. I have used 1/8" stock with good results too, but it is a better canditate for flat grinding, instead of the scandi or covexed grind.
