HERMAN WILLIAMS PEACHSEED JIGGING AND TURKISH CLIPS
These just arrived from Herman Williams. Since the 893 SFO for WalMart had 2 blades I decided to have a couple made with a single blade...a slim, Sunday go to meeting knife. I like sets so he made me matching knives with 3 blades.
The trapper is a re-jigged TRT 96...the 2nd TRT96 is just for comparison.

What is the "TRT" ? "96" i assume is for the 96OT pattern ?
I do not recognize the original Schrade knife shown here. Was it a late release like 2003-4 ?
hoping for a little more information on the TRT 96.
thanks, kj

The TRT96, Tennessee River Trapper, is modeled after the 296. It's 4-1/8" closed and has jigged bone handles, hollow ground stainless blades, no shield and SCHRADE SUPER SHARP etched on the blade. The tang stamp is SCHRADE+ over U.S.A. LTD. The same knife was used with different tang stamps, shields, etching and handle material...most often bone. I'm not sure, but I think they were all made between 2000 and 2004 .

Dang! Schrade was as bad as Case is about making forty eleven different variations of the same knife. Welcome to the world of collecting.

If they didn't make so many variations, my collection would be a lot smaller, and my bank account bigger. I guess that when you make knives for 100 years, you're going to re-issue a few patterns.

dweb, Thank you and the pics you posted show exactly what was going on with this pattern. The knives issued close to the end are ones i don't know. This 96 with bone makes for a very attractive knife & full size too.
