Ima wearing a Barney Rubble mammoth skin tuxedo

Schrade Cutlery Company was founded in 1904 by George Schrade, and his brothers Jacob and William Schrade. In 1946 Imperial Knife Associated Companies, (IKAC; an association of Ulster Knife Co and Imperial Knife Co) purchased controlling interest in Schrade Cut Co and changed the name to Schrade Walden Cutlery. In 1973 the name was changed to Schrade Cutlery. In 2004 Schrade closed due to bankruptcy.

This forum is dedicated to the knives that are the legacy of this company. This forum is not the place to discuss the replica knives currently being imported using the Schrade name.

After the last one, I was on the fence... now I'm convinced we might need to call in the sheriff for a search of his property

Or at the very least steal his salesman for ourselves! ::sneaky::

Mr B. you have a RARE one here. Schrade Cut Co made very few knives with Stag. This knife with peachseed jigged bone would be a top find, but with Stag it becomes a World Class find.
I think i might know your benefactor. It's somebody well connected to Schrade and the Baers(Bears ?).

I have never seen A Schrade Cutco or Schrade Walden in all my life with covers like that. Not one! However I have an Ulster, made in the same town, and who traded cutlers back and forth with Schrade Cutco, without a doubt, with IDENTICAL bone. Interesting. Definitely a first, and I have seen more than 20,000 (uhh... 5000?) Schrade Cutcos either in hand or (mostly) from photographs. That is Ulster bone.

Very cool Mr. B. But you really ought to get the ol buffer out and clean all that writing off that blade.

Cal, i have 1 or maybe 2 Schrade Cut Co knives with the same handles as the O.P. knife. I think it is Stag.
I am away from my knives so cannot find it & take picture for at least one week.

I will go with bone and Mister Blister will of course send us out a few of these for review in our homes as a matter of course and duly expected.
