SCHRADE Presto m2 for SHAPLEIGH HDW!

Schrade Cutlery Company was founded in 1904 by George Schrade, and his brothers Jacob and William Schrade. In 1946 Imperial Knife Associated Companies, (IKAC; an association of Ulster Knife Co and Imperial Knife Co) purchased controlling interest in Schrade Cut Co and changed the name to Schrade Walden Cutlery. This forum is dedicated to the knives that are the legacy of this company. This forum is not the place to discuss the replica knives currently being imported using the Schrade name.

SCHRADE Presto m2 for SHAPLEIGH HDW!

Post by accujohn »

My little knife heart skipped a beat when I saw this today at an antique mall. It skipped a few more times when I saw everything was original and the action perfect. Price wise, I got it at a tiny fraction of it's worth. Definitely a keeper but I was wondering if any of you had ever seen this schrade model made for Shapleigh? I know there was a few other models. Any info would be appreciated but mostly I just wanted to share with you all! ::woot::

If it's 4 1/2" it's a KS110, 4 7/8" it's a KS104 in the Keen Kutter tang stamp. Books for $275-$300 mint according to Alvin Sellens' book. Great looking find! ::tu::

It's definitely closer to 5". It's marked Shapleigh diamond edge. I realize they bought Keen Kutter but this is not marked under that line
