What's your take on dog fighting thing?

Personally, I think you've got to be one heartless individual to participate in or enjoy watching the "sport". Even chicken fighting seems a little over the line, even thought they're stuid animals. I don't know....maybe it's just the fact that I'm a dog lover that makes me feel so strongly against the dog fighting thing. Fighting them, then executing the ones that don't "perform" seems really sick. But, I suppose you could somehow equate the same thing with greyhound racing. When the dog either becomes too old to race or doesn't "perform" well, they're put down.

I like boxing. I also like the UFC fighting. So....does that put me in the same class of people who like dog fighting? Don't know. A thin line, maybe, huh? At least when Ken Shamrock lost to Royce Gracie, they didn't take him out and electrocute him!

I don't like animal fights of any kind.

I spent 5 years as an amatuer light-heavy then as a heavyweight which for amatuer was 201 lbs. When a human takes a bout, it's with full knowledge, for critters, it's just being thrust into a bloody match with no rules. If Vick is found guilty they should lock him up for life!

When a ufc fighter or boxer steps in the ring, its his own decision. The same cant be said for animals being made to fight.

glasses look a little weak though.

dog fighting(not a sport) and any other animal (including turtles

) fighting is wrong on many levels.

I heard on the radio this morning on my way down the mountain to Boise that it's been reported that Vick and his cohorts tossed Beagles into the ring with the pit bulls as "bait" so they could get the taste of blood. Man oh man, this just gets more and more sickening as it goes along. Being a dog lover....and animals in general, there isn't much the courts could do to that bunch that I'd disagree with.

They could throw Vick in the ring with old ear bitin Tyson. Dang, when he was first champion, he could really throw leather using his legs and hips to full advantage, getting that power from those short punches. Against Holyfield, just a tired over rated arm puncher.

Yeah, Vick vs. 2 BIG Mastiff's and 2 Pit Bulls = Bloodsport. He still won't make a plea even though it seems that every friend he had snitched on him. I don't think he'll be playing football unless it's in a prison yard.

Hmmn, no rules, rather fitting.

I'm against dog fighting and personaly think that Vic is an arrogant sob to begin with.I feel he should be prosecuted and banned from the NFL

Being the dog lover that I am (see my beautiful boy in my siggy pic) I would want to burn this guy at the stake if proven guilty which I am sure he is.

I just cannot imagine doing those things to a dog. My Tank is treated like a member of the family which I consider he is.

I hadn't heard about the beagles tossed in for bait. That pisses me off. Wow......okay, it appears Vick is going to face some prison time for participating in the event. I think that is just. I like the fact that he didn't fight the case and saved taxpayers money admitting he did it. I think he needs some serious help as it is quite obvious that he has some problems. What a deal.

No need for a trial, Monday he is supposed to plead guilty. Though I've enjoyed watching him play, I do hope he is banned from the NFL for life and that he repays his last signing bonus with the Atlanta Falcons and since he does have the means to, he should be fined as well as billed for investigate costs. Only fitting that after serving time in prison that he should have to perform 300+hours of community service, preferably in a county animal shelter.

He had NO WAY to fight the case, the DA got all his GOOD FRIENDS to testify against him in return for lighter sentences.

He wasn't doing anyone a favor, he had absolutely no way to win.

By pleading guilty, he is likely to recieve a lighter sentence than if he were to go to trial.

I have to admit I haven't watched the media on this thing. I was just thinking the Johnnie Cochran thing out in LA and OJ in regards to Vick pleading guilty. Money talks....you know the drill Hukk.
I liked the idea of Vick having to do community service work with animal shelters, preferrably dogs.....that is a good idea.
