I got a knife from ebay that I could not find in any of my Schrade catalogs, even looking at the ones from the 1940's.
The seller said he bought it in 1991 from SMKW. It came in the wrong box, apparently he mixed the boxes up when he sold them.
The knife I got is a 893 Lumberjack. The box is for a 895 Rancher.
He said these were made by Schrade for SMKW. I searched the catalogs but, not only couldn't I find a 893, I could not find any 2 bladed knife with a clip blade & a sheepfoot on the same end. I thought I might find a predecessor pattern that the knife was modeled after, but no luck.
It is 3-1/2" jigged Delrin handles ,brass liners, & Schrade shield. The box says on the, side: "Proudly Made in the U.S.A." You don't see that on the "new Schrades"!
All in all it is a nice size to carry. I wish I knew how many were made. I wouldn't mind having one for a user.
If any of you have any info on this knife or other SFOs Schrade made for SMKW, I would appreciate the info.

Its always possible.. Anything with Schrade is.. Its even possible SMKW delt with Walmart for overstock. All I can say is I see nothing for SMKW in the order of 12,000. As LT says.. Anything is possible

Thanks Larry.
If it was easy it wouldn't be Schrade!
