Vintage Geo Schrade Double Switchblade
Picked this up the other day for around 10 bucks (was part of a group of knives purchased together). I have not cleaned it. This is my problem--neither blade comes out when the buttons are pressed. As I do not have the expertise to repair this, I'm just curious if it would be worth having it repaired. I know some of these vintage switchblades can command pretty good prices. Thanks for looking!

Nice looking old knife. I think it would be worth repairing. I the wishbone type spring still in the knife but broken or is it missing altogether?
If I have seen further it is by standing on the shoulders of giants.

Considering you got it for cheap and the blades are pretty decent, I would look into having it repaired. It would most likely be worth it value wise, but who wouldn't also like to have an old switchblade to carry.

btrwtr, Not sure where to look for the spring. Is it visible without taking the knife apart? The blades do actually lock into the open position, requiring the push of the button to close them. The safety switches also seem to be working, but when pressing the buttons to open the blades--nothing. I actually have to turn the knife upside down and shake the blades out while holding the release button down.

Where would I look to see if the spring is present?

If it does not pop open there is no spring present , you would be able see it in the knife held by the center pin running through the knife.

With the blades open, look down into the well between the handles. You should see the center pin running through the handles (it's the pin under the "A" in Topeka). The pin holds a spring spring down that should extend to either side of the pin and under each knife blade tang. My guess is you have no spring or just pieces.
Oops, sorry Wiseguy, I pretty much repeated exactly what you said
