1- The handle is a composite material, at one time Camillus used a material called Rogers Board on the Camillus Barlows, though I don't know if they use that on the Camco Barlows.
2- Camillus went out of business in 2007 and everything was auctioned off at a bankruptcy sale. I haven't seen any blades for those appear anywhere like eBay in seven or eight years.
3- As to the worth of the knife:
Camillus Cutlery Company made the Camco brand, and it was their economy line. The blades were little thinner; the springs were little thinner; and less finish work was done to the Camco Barlow than into the Camillus Barlow. It was an economy brand and it was very common. They were made by the millions and any given time you can probably find three or four dozen on eBay in really good condition for $25 or less.
As to the value of your particular knife:
If I saw it on someone’s table at a flea market for $5 I would walk past it and not look twice.
If I saw it for 50¢ I might buy it in case I needed a back spring.
4- There is no chrome on this knife the bolsters are made of steel that was probably polished at one time. I would remove the rust by using my buffer and black magic rouge and then step up to a finer rouge like no scratch pink. If you don't have a buffer, check out some of Scott's tutorials on cleaning knives. I'm sure someone can post a link to them, as I am limited on my time at the moment.
