Ode To The 07
By special request, I am starting a thread devoted exclusively to showcasing examples of the humble yet amazingly utilitarian and artistically graceful Case Mini Trapper pattern 07. Please consider this an open invitation to post, discuss, examine or otherwise bask in the sweet glow and eternal magnificence of one of the most perfect patterns ever released by W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery in the history of mankind!

~Q~ thank you very much for showing those. You have some really nice ones.
Following in the footsteps of my Wharncliffe hero ~Q~, I've accumulated a few Case 07 W's. Now, do the W's come in stag??

Technically XX, that is a dogleg jack, not a mini trapper. And a beautiful piece it is too.

Re: Ode To The 07
My source is knifeaholic's latest and I hope I'm not misunderstanding what I read. According to the source, the term mini trapper didn't come into use until late1979 when the pen blade was dropped for the spey blade. My tastes run to the wharncliffe rather than the spey blade. I would really like them to bring back the pen blade as a variation just like the 6207W.XxTestedxX wrote:steve99f wrote:Technically XX, that is a dogleg jack, not a mini trapper. Wouldn't be a mini-trapper then Steve. Would be just a plain old Jack knife and I would be fine with that.

Re: Ode To The 07
As far as "mini" knife patterns go, I don't find the -07 to be all that mini, which I like. A 3 1/2" knife isn't that mini in my book, but I find 3 5/8" to be darn near perfect for carrying.
Great looking knives!

Pocket, fixed, machete, axe, it's all good!

Re: Ode To The 07
I agree Red. 3½" isn't all that "mini" but compared to the 4¼" regular sized Trapper, it seems small. Now as to the 3-5/8", we all know what perfect sized knife you're talking about there.

Re: Ode To The 07
I have a red 6207W with the Case american flag shield in my pocket today, so this thread is appropriate ! Been liking the slimmer 6107W more lately, but the 2 blade version is tough to beat for all around versatility.
pffffft that's not a knife ......... now THAT'S a knife !! Crocodile Dundee
