I just picked up a Primble that I need help confirming if it's a Schrade. It's a 3" swell end jack with a long pull clip and pen secondary. The tang stamp dates it to 1940-1968 but it definitely feels like it's on the older side of that range. The pattern number is 4939 and I can't find a reference for that anywhere except on ebay where there happens to be another one, a little rougher and with the older Belknap India Steel stamp which is pre 1940s. There's no star under the pattern number and with those beautiful washington bolsters I really want to believe it shares some DNA with the 2OT but I have doubts stemming from those funktastic goldstone scales and oval shield which are screaming out Case to me. I know Case only made one or two patterns for Belknap but maybe this was another one? Does anyone recognize this knife or have a better source for info? My google skills hit a brick wall with this one.
- Thanks

For what it's worth I went through the schrade catalogs and did not see a 3" washington jack pattern, they were all 3 1/2". However that does not mean much.
Did case ever make a washington jack pattern?

Page 90 of reprint of Schrade CutCo 1934 supplement to their 1926 Catalog E. The weird covers would not be unheard of, especially as a contract knife.

Thanks for the replies.
I've never seen a Case with washington bolsters - I was taking a shot in the dark there.
Cal you got that spot on. It's definitely that 2533, I went through every page of E, the supplements and the 1940 catalog and never spotted it. Thanks
