According to my little book U.S. Knife was in Terre Haute, IN circa 1904. I have doubts about this knife. Especially the master blade being correct. Looks too short and also like a nail or steel pin was used to install it. Also doesn't look like it lines up right with the spring on the bottom. Does anyone recognize this unusual shield and punch and know who made this knife?

That master blade is suspicious. Is the tang stamped?

Sorry I didn’t follow the link. I see the stamp now. That looks like so many other knives this one will be tough to really identify. I have some Keen Kutters that are very similar. Nothing identical but very much like it.

Goins says US Knife was used by Wabash Cutlery Terre Haute.
These handles look like Wabash.
They had yellow celluloid handles with hearts, clubs, diamonds and spades shields made of celluloid also.

In this thread there is a Wabash Cutlery knife with a heart in the handle. How about the ebay knife is a Wabash Cutlery frame and someone put the U.S. Knife blade in the frame? I think U.S. Knife was the forerunner of Wabash Cutlery and probably operated just a bit earlier in Terre Haute. Just doesn't look like it all fits together well, but may actually be better than it looks?

I should have added my book says U.S. Knife circa 1904 and Wabash Cutlery 1921 - 1935, so there is a gap in the years of operation.
