When knives are posted in this forum people often ask what makes it counterfeit. Here is an excellent posting to study. NOT SAYING THE SELLER IS DOING ANYTHING WRONG, but look at the knife the 3318 on the blades doesn't match the handle material. Apparently the person that did the repair didn't have n/s pin stock and used nails or something on the bolster pins, which isn't uncommon in amateur repair work. Then look at the handle pins; certainly not fit and finished like you would see on a factory finished knives. The inlay work around the shield is sloppy and the handle material doesn't mate to the bolsters. There is a free study guide available on ebay everyday for those who have time to search the listings.

Re: A Good Case Study
Of course the real study guide is holding and looking at as many authentic knives as you can. Once you know what a real one looks and feels like, this one will be glaring at you with evil eyes.

Already has 9 bids. Maybe someone really likes the blades and will redo the
entire knife for themselves on the cheap?

Re: A Good Case Study
At least the seller is not trying to misrepresent it. Says in the listing it's a 3318 rehandled with "synthetic wood".
