A Good Case Study

When knives are posted in this forum people often ask what makes it counterfeit. Here is an excellent posting to study. NOT SAYING THE SELLER IS DOING ANYTHING WRONG, but look at the knife the 3318 on the blades doesn't match the handle material. Apparently the person that did the repair didn't have n/s pin stock and used nails or something on the bolster pins, which isn't uncommon in amateur repair work. Then look at the handle pins; certainly not fit and finished like you would see on a factory finished knives. The inlay work around the shield is sloppy and the handle material doesn't mate to the bolsters. There is a free study guide available on ebay everyday for those who have time to search the listings.
