Epic STAG THREAD
Epic STAG THREAD
I looked through all 31 pages thinking there must be a dedicated stag thread.
I found one for “crown stag.” viewtopic.php?f=34&t=61233 and one for “Stacked Stag”.
viewtopic.php?f=34&t=59382
So this thread is for pictures of the “regular” non crown non stacked stag handled fixed blades. If you got em show em.
Here are my two Randall’s with stag handles. One was a present when I got my Journeyman plumbing license the other for getting my Masters.
They make a nice set. The model 21 Little Game is for “delicate cutting”. The model 19 Bushmaster is very stout for heavy cutting.

Re: Epic STAG THREAD
Thanks for the kind words.I acquired that Jos. Rodgers bowie by being in the right place at the right time. Basically:tongueriver wrote:What a spread! I especially like that last knife, the Joseph Rodgers spearpoint hunting knife.
Went to a car show a good ways from where I live and when I got there found it had been rained out. Getting ready for the drive home I went in to a coffee shop for a coffee and noticed an antique shop next door.
After getting my coffee I went in and at first saw mostly junk. I n the back there were some knives and I asked to look through them. while I was doing that the proprietor asked if I liked bowie knives. Thinking he probably had some fantasy junk I said ,"Sure I'll take a look". And he drags this bowie out from under a pile of stuff on the bottom shelf of a display case.Knew right away it was a good one.Wound up getting it for $225.
On the way home I stopped at a fellow knife collector's place and showed it to him.He figured it was probably worth at least $800 to $1000 dollars. It is in great shape;very little sharpening;stag handles are perfect and matched;and the sheath looks to be original and never seen a belt. The blade is 9 inches long. Here are a couple more pics.

Re: Epic STAG THREAD
That certainly qualifies as epic stag.
Re: Epic STAG THREAD
Lol! You guys are funny. It’s the thread that’s epic not the stag handles!
Thanks to all who have posted so far. I’ve been trying not to respond after every post. “Nice knife”.
I love stag. When it’s done right it’s just plain awesome to look at and to use. I like that it’s never hot or too cold.

This is my one and only stag handled fixed blade, made by one of our local custom knife makers Marty Ketcham from Humboldt, SD.
