Belt sander question

Post by cottage hill bill »

I have one of the discontinued Delta 1 x 72 belt sanders. Great for general shop use. My problem is the belts I bought. In the beginning they worked ok but some that have been on the shelf, unused for a couple of years separate where the ends are glued together after just a few seconds of use.

What brands of sanding belts do you use that stay together?

Thanks,
CHB.

I have a 2” x 72” belt grinder. I ordered my belts from Pops Knife Supply and bought a variety of grits from Klingspor and another variety of a lighter weight lesser known brand (Sankyo flex). Both varieties hang up on a rack in my garage and after a year or two of use none of them have separated at the seam.
Hope this helps.
