Another Schrade 8OT

Post by Jeffinn »

I like the size of the 8OT, it just seems to fit right in may hands. I've been buying these when I find decent ones (ones where the blades aren't totally ground down) at a decent price.
And I'm still liking the amber wormgroove bone from Culpepper. Wormgroove is one of those patterns that you either love or hate, I'm drawn to it for some reason. The color saturation is always good for this particular bone pattern.
This ones got a little blade wear but nothing excessive and lots of carbon marks but there doesn't seem to be any pitting. I finished it off by adding some threading to the bolsters.

Beautiful job Jeff! AND..... nice work on the bolsters too!
I was doing the same as you. I have a few stacked up for mods.
The 8OT is one of my favorites. I am like you, the size of the 8OT fits the hand nicely and is a beefy & very useful knife for EDC.
The color and jigging looks great on that piece of bone!
Another fine job on a well deserving knife!
