Replace springs on old Schrade scissor knives?

Post by bladecollectorr »

I like to collect old Schrade Cut Co or Schrade Walden gents knives. I often see knives that are in great shape except for having a broken spring for the scissors. It seems an easy fix if you had a new spring. Tap out old one, tap in new one.

I found that Victorianox sells a few sizes of springs but that's about all I have found. Do they work?

Where do you get replacement scissors springs for Schrade Cut Co pen knives?

Thanks guys!

I have found replacement Victorinox springs on eBay.
Whether they will fit or not depends the size of the steel they used in the scissors and the shape of the hole drilled in the scissor handle. I have rarely been successful at placing a Victoria knife spring in another brand of knife, but there have been a few times that it worked.
Best wishes on that project!

I have tried replacing springs like that, and only ended up with frustration and curse words.

Here's another thread on scissor spring replacement.
