Another fake Case 25¢ knife
Another fake Case 25¢ knife has popped up on eBay. https://www.ebay.com/itm/VINTAGE-RARE-C ... Sw7P9fzU4g Unlike a genuine one, this one has a cap bolster and the jigging is definitely not Case. Authentic originals were barehead (no cap bolster) boys knives. Same seller has a 50¢, a 75¢, and a $1.00 knife (Case never made them).

If my memory serves me right, Parker put these out when he was head of Case. The whole set included the 25c, 50c, 75c and the $1.00 knives.

I believe you're correct. I've got an old ad somewhere from a Parker flyer showing these knives.

Re: Another fake Case 25¢ knife
The only versions I’m aware of Parker doing were the Case Classics set, which were Toothpick patterns and did include .25¢, 50¢, .75¢, and $1.00 versions. These “Toothpick” versions are described in Witcher’s Counterfeiting Antique Cutlery. Those of course were not made by Case. The authentic originals by Case are barehead 6106 patterns.
The jigging on the OP knives (see seller’s photo below) is definitely not Case jigging. If someone has documentation of Parker having made these in the “boy’s knife” pattern, I’d like to see it.
Tim, if you find your flyer please let us know what it shows.

The ad I have (had) was of the Toothpick.

Thanks Tim, that’s what I remembered also. So we’re back to the original premise that the eBay seller’s knives are counterfeits.

What's throwing me is the other close up photos of the tang stamps don't appear to be cold stamped.

But the covers are not a Case jigging. I believe the knives are not genuine.

Re: Another fake Case 25¢ knife
WOW!!!! This lucky seller somehow came into 4 of these garbage can fakes. Just check out his other auctions. 25 cents, 50 cents, 75 cents and $1.00. I come up with a total of $2 worth of knives...... at most.

Re: Another fake Case 25¢ knife
These knives were made by Ken Tolle of Louisville, KY. He has been making knives out of old Utica parts for about 30 years. He does not attempt to sell them as original. Everybody that buys from him knows that he makes them. He sells most of his knives for about $40.00 each. When others try to pass them off as originals is in my opinion is criminal. Ken is the source of what many refer to as Kentucky Knives when referring to fakes.

Re: Another fake Case 25¢ knife
But isn't he just as criminal for not stamping something on these knives he makes to identify them as not being something vintage? He would have to be very naive to think no one would ever try to misrepresent one of the knives he makes.Sanders Knives wrote: ↑Tue Dec 08, 2020 1:42 pm These knives were made by Ken Tolle of Louisville, KY. If I was the source of what people referred to as fakes I might be inclined to rethink what I was doing.

If he's the guy making them he is just as much a criminal as the guys reselling them.

Aiding and abetting, or accessory before the fact, it’s still a crime.

Re: Another fake Case 25¢ knife
Seems kinda shady to me.
A simple mark somewhere on these knives would let someone know these weren't original.

Re: Another fake Case 25¢ knife
What's very interesting is; EVERY top bidder on the four this seller has listed ($1.00, .75, .50, & .25) is the same EXACT person, but different ID numbers. This leads me to believe, or at least suspect, that he / she has four different ebay accounts. The bid history on every top bidder has the same exact bid history. What are the odds of that? This person is shilling the price up. That in itself would be enough to shy away from. It's so obvious what's happening here. imho.

I believe that even though it is actually the same bidder eBay assigns a different coded ID for that bidder on each individual auction.KLJ77 wrote: ↑Tue Dec 08, 2020 5:08 pm What's very interesting is; EVERY top bidder on the four this seller has listed ($1.00, .75, .50, & .25) is the same EXACT person, but different ID numbers. Re: Another fake Case 25¢ knife
I sent the seller a message two days ago right after seeing them, advising the knives are fakes, why they are fakes, etc. As of now the seller has not replied.
