An elusive Old Timer

Schrade Cutlery Company was founded in 1904 by George Schrade, and his brothers Jacob and William Schrade. In 1946 Imperial Knife Associated Companies, (IKAC; an association of Ulster Knife Co and Imperial Knife Co) purchased controlling interest in Schrade Cut Co and changed the name to Schrade Walden Cutlery. In 1973 the name was changed to Schrade Cutlery. In 2004 Schrade closed due to bankruptcy.

This forum is dedicated to the knives that are the legacy of this company. This forum is not the place to discuss the replica knives currently being imported using the Schrade name.

An elusive Old Timer

Post by Meridian_Mike »

Well.... it has been a long search but I FINALLY found the Old Timer that has eluded me for quite some time.

It is the 49OT which is the same as the 47OT BUT... it has a "gut hook" blade.

There is a bunch of the chinese made 49s out there but this is the first USA made 49OT I have seen since I started my search.

And here she is.....

Congratulations. ::tu::
It's always satisfying finding an item you've been searching for.
I still have a few I'm on the hunt for.

Congratulations Mike.
They are hard to find.
It took me a few years to find one.

Thanks everyone!

Yes, it took me 2 or 3 years of watching the bay everyday to finally see this one pop up.

Now..... onward to another Old Timer!
