MILLION DOLLAR REWARD - DEAD OR ALIVE.

Schrade Cutlery Company was founded in 1904 by George Schrade, and his brothers Jacob and William Schrade. In 1946 Imperial Knife Associated Companies, (IKAC; an association of Ulster Knife Co and Imperial Knife Co) purchased controlling interest in Schrade Cut Co and changed the name to Schrade Walden Cutlery. In 1973 the name was changed to Schrade Cutlery. In 2004 Schrade closed due to bankruptcy.

This forum is dedicated to the knives that are the legacy of this company. This forum is not the place to discuss the replica knives currently being imported using the Schrade name.

Many thousands of 34OT stockman knives (the ones that are 3 5/16 inches closed) were stamped in such a way that it looks like 84OT but it is actually a poorly done 34OT. There is no such thing as an 84OT. It is of course possible that someone has removed a blade from one of these examples and put it back together.

I purchased one when I first starting collecting Old Timer Knives.( didn't know there was never made )
Sent several messages to seller to make sure the tang stamp was right.
It turn out it's a 340T where the 3 looks like a 8.
I would say one tang stamp they used was stamping to hard and made the 3 look like a 8

Hi Cal and Grant,
I would like to put this subject to bed, for good.
It has come up many times over the years!
Can someone please post a photo of one of these 84OT stamped blades.
