Ivory handle knife, old

Post by rocko1 »

Any help with this little knife would be great.I had it posted on a different topic that was most likely not the right one. It is 3 inches closed and very nicely made. The handle is ivory and it opens by lifting a little half circle flat handle on one end and turning it. It has W.C.S. stamped on it and D.R.Patent 39829 on the back side. Thanks, Rocko1.

Hi, This is the email I received from Bernard Levine about the knife.

It is a corn knife, for toes.

The German patent is for the folding locking turn ring.
C. Hollweg, pat'd 1886 in the UK, 1887 in the US.

See LG4 page 262.

Can you send me a big picture of it, to use in Knife World?

He is asking for a bigger picture to put in Knife World. LG4 is Levine's Guide edition 4 page 262. There is a nice picture of the knife on that page.

If you could send me a PM I will give you his email to send the picture to. Hope this answers your question.

PM means Private Message.
You can click on that button at the bottom of one of Mike's posts to send him a note. He can then follow up privately with you.

Cool knife!!
