PVK Vegas Review

Post by RoyS »

Hi Folks,

I realize that it’s far easier to complain than compliment, so I’m hesitant and somewhat uncomfortable to write this lack-lustre review relating to my recent experiences purchasing from PVK Vegas. But as so many businesses these days seem to care little about you & I as customers, then sharing our experiences remains our only recourse.

I have now ‘two’ knives purchased from PVK that are in my collection and that I’m very pleased with, however..!

On one occasion the knife purchased arrived totally wrong and not the one ordered. It was returned.

The second delivery was non-functioning and again returned.

Recently another order arrived with a crack across one of the scales, now returned and a refund is pending.

This last experience was especially disconcerting, as I took the extra step to (very politely) ask if my order could be 'very carefully' checked prior to shipment, which clearly it was not, hence this latest return.

Aside from the poor service, PVK has never reached out to me to apologies, this has left me feeling that I’m not in any way valued as a customer. We all make mistakes (although in my opinion that’s too many) but it’s not the mistake that’s important, it’s how one handles it, so for that alone I’m disinclined to continue being a PVK customer.

Cheerio,
Roy

Unfortunately many of the so-called business men in this hobby don’t have proper customer service. And most will say how great they are while lying and cheating people.

I only had one dealing with them. I was impressed by the response to me asking to see more detailed pics of a specific knife (last one in stock - so 1 or 1).
They replied quickly, with great pics and asked me if I needed anything more.
In that sense the customer service (for me) was great.

But then the knife itself was cracked, chipped and otherwise just not what was described.
In that sense (for me) I dodged a bullet.

I feel your pain, Roy.
If I'm not mistaken, PVK takes in trades as well as buying knives outright, and they do any necessary repairs or simply change the covers and call it "customized" with custom prices attached.
Like anyone else I can overlook one mistake, but 3 in a row, sounds like a trend to me.
They're not the only source for Latamas, so perhaps you'll need to exercise some patience and search elsewhere.
Get your refund first before you show them the door! 8)

Hi Folks,

I just wanted to follow up on this experience.

A refund did show up on my card, so that's good news.

However, I have heard absolutely nothing following this from PVK, no confirmation that the item was at fault, no apology for their 'oversight' or in wasting my time and effort, no gratitude for bringing this to their attention and promptly returning it.

It would seen on the face of it that they have absolutely no interest in maintaining me as a customer, which is enlightening if nothing else.

Cheerio,
Roy

Don't feel too badly Roy, it's the way of the world nowadays to "hit and run" so to speak, it's get your money and then adios you out the door as quickly as possible.
It's not just PVK either, there are plenty of other retailers who quickly forget their customers the moment that cash register goes "ding".
The kind of Customer Service you're looking for has gone the way of the Do-Do bird my friend, this psycho planet we live on is spinning in circles so fast we'll be lucky just to hang on and not go hurling into outer space.
Stay tuned! 8)

PVK is ran by the guy who used to own bladeauction years ago he did a very very poor job at running bladeauction just let it go for like last 6 months to 1 year of its existence, soo many people got ripped off scammed and non-payments of auctions that were won but never paid for. could never get a response from the guy for problems with his site but he sure did like to take your money for fees. PVK has had a bad reputation for many years not sure why anyone would consider buying anything from them . yall been warned .

Hi Guys,

I just want to follow up on this topic.

PVK has now re-listed this knife on their site and have "BLEM" (blemish) in their description with high res images of the areas of issue. Well done them but I wish (as I had requested) that they had properly inspected this 'before' they sent it out to me, as they not only waisted my time but lost a customer.

And I never received an apology.

To end on a positive note, they did refund me fully and very promptly, so my gratitude to them for that.

Cheerio,
Roy

Glad you got your refund trouble-free, Roy.
Lesson learned!
I know nothing about them, but you might want to browse "Adam's International Knife Works", www.adamsknifeworks.com , as I've viewed some very nice knives they have for sale.
Another possible source for you bud, but be sure to check their reputability!
