Kershaw 3871 ??

Kershaw began its foray into the knife business sometime during 1974. The company was originally based in Portland Oregon, but most early knives were manufactured in Japan. The first US manufacturing plant was opened in 1997 & the company currently offers knives made in the U.S., Japan, & China. Pete Kershaw (an ex Gerber salesman) started the business.

Kershaw 3871 ??

Post by robpa »

I am trying to replace my 3871 and all I find are marked China. My original 3871 was not so marked. Were they all china or were some usa made? I think Leeks were USA and china depending on the particular model of Leek. I will not replace with a damn china product.

Per a Kershaw rep (via a telephone conversation) no Leeks were ever made in China. Call them & ask about your 3871. They are nice people.
