Latest old Remington-Any ideas?

The Remington Corporation and the knives that they built have influenced the U.S. cutlery industry more than nearly any other manufacturer. From the time America was settled, to the end of WWI, American knife companies struggled to compete with Britain and German imports, but events that occurred during and after the First World War led to a great change in this phenomenon. Unprecedented opportunities arose, and Remington stepped up to seize the moment. In the process, they created some of today's most prized collectables. In an ironic twist, the next World War played the greatest role in ending the company’s domination of the industry.

Latest old Remington-Any ideas?

Post by CampbellAr2 »

Snagged this old jack the other day but it has me stumped as to the model…

2 blade jack knife with a clip master and a ground down pen blade
1 front bolster only
No model stamp visible, but both blades appear to have a Rengton UMC (pen) stamped on the blades
Celluloid or pyremite scales , in what I’d call a “Butter and Molasses pattern
No shield
3 3/8ths closed

Appreciate your feedback

After looking thru my Voyles knife book, could be a R35. Says an R35 is a swell end jack, 3 and 3/8 inch with celluloid, and has one bolster and clip master blade. That's a nice old jack, does it have steel bolsters?

Looks like Worthpoint pulls their info right off of eBay. Cool old knife. ::nod::👍

John, now that I look carefully at that useless Worthpoint post, it looks like Worthpoint and Ebay are actually in cahoots with each other. Maybe it's always been that way, but I just noticed the little ebay symbol at the bottom of the screen and it says "raw data from Ebay under sublicense". ::disgust::
