This one seems to be a bit odd from what Ive seen before, appreciate your thoughts before I start trying to clean this up
Blade - 5 3/4 inches long, with fuller and blued
Steel guard
Metal "birds head" pommel - with lanyard hole
Red washers stacked at either end of the leather stack
The stamp on the blade is pretty poor reading, but I can make out
Western
Boulder, COLO
and the 3rd line I cant make out-
Based off what I've been reading in the forum, is this a early War production, or something cobbled together post war with surplus parts?

Knife is original although pitted. They made them in two models, one with aluminum pommel like yours and one with a flat steel butt cap. Both are fairly common WW2 knives. They also made both in blued or bright blades if my memory is working.
