Hi Q. The last email I received from him was on January 12 and everything seemed fine. I am quite worried.QTCut5 wrote: ↑Mon Jan 29, 2024 3:45 amYou're not the first to wonder.

Re: Where’s madmarco
Yes, Herb, I am too.

Because of the gregarious, garrulous and ubiquitous persona Marco had established on AAPK, it seems extremely out of character for him to suddenly disappear like this without any explanation. I tend to believe that if he were capable and had Internet access, he would post something, he would not simply stop communicating so abruptly.
However, because people are complicated and sometimes act in seemingly irrational ways, despite how remote or unlikely we may think it is, we must be open to the possibility that has intentionally chosen to discontinue all communication for some reason that is beyond our immediate comprehension.
We can only assume, therefore, that the reason for his sudden silence must be due to one of three possibilities:
1) He no longer wants to communicate - which is possible, but IMO seems highly unlikely
2) He does not have Internet access and/or telephone service - again, possible but highly unlikely
3) He has been incapacitated due to any number of potential causes and is physically or otherwise unable to communicate - as to the nature of the supposed incapacitation we can only speculate, wonder and worry.
As far as what more anyone can do to discover the reason for Marco's disappearance, it seems to me that pretty much everything within reason has already been tried to establish communication both online and via telephone. Anything more may be considered excessive, intrusive and/or inappropriate depending on what the actual reason turns out to be. Realistically, all we can do at this point is wait and continue to hope to someday get an answer to this disturbing mystery.
Marco, if you are reading this and are unable to respond for some reason, just know that we are concerned, we miss you, we pray you are well and safe and we continue to hope you will soon return.

Q, I just got off the phone with the Winnipeg police. They are sending an office over to his apartment right now, and I will let you know if I find anything out. They cautioned me that due to privacy concerns they might not be able to share much.QTCut5 wrote: ↑Mon Jan 29, 2024 3:07 pmYes, Herb, I am too.![]()

Re: Where’s madmarco
Well done, Herb. That is one thing that I did not think of.

It occurred to me that Marco had mentioned in one or more of his posts that he had no immediate family (to leave his knife collection to). Requesting a wellness check is, therefore, an appropriate measure to take in this situation. I understand that at least one other member had already tried that but was unsuccessful in convincing the police to comply. Don't know why, but perhaps the police were compelled by a second request from another concerned party. But, whatever the reason, I am glad they are checking in on him and I am waiting with guarded optimism to hear the result.

Hi Guys,
Just heard from Marco. He is okay. He had some serious medical issues and is just back home, so will be in touch as soon as able.
Cheerio,
Roy
